(Atlas)
When it rains it pours then it rains some more i had
Brains galore since the age of 14
On rainy days man
I be playing game shit
Had the ps2, or the gameboy sure
Then i found an umbrella in a closet one day
And decided i would try to sneak out, no way
Walking through the puddles and the potholes
And stepping over leaves and fallen branches in the grotto’s
Matted down the grass within the gardens of tomatoes that were growing in my neighbor’s yard
Between the paths i tried follow
I was hoping not to slip when I stumbled upon
A little piece of modern treasure in the jungle that’d grown
And i when i picked up inspect it
Be alas i found a necklace
Something special about it
Felt it in my solar plexus
Had a pendent on the end
Tends to glint in the moonlight
Shaped like a star but it hangs like a boom mic
I wear it to this day
My most prized possession
But not around my neck where most eyes can rest it
The gold chain hovers on my heart
Makes my whole body feel like a work of art
And every single night right before i fall asleep
I make sure to take it off and let it rest next to me
See, before i turned it over i’da never really thought of it
But etched into the back it read
“Patrick Kelly’s confidence.”

When it rains it pours and im hoping that it never stops
Atlas put me in directions of an aqueduct
My emotion’s acting up
Walking down the boulevard
Missed as it was coming up
And hit me with an uppercut
But ooh i ate that
But my attempt to chat back
Sadly was a failed attempt
And he caught me with my trick to the chin
My brain shook and then i hit the ground hard
This is the déjà vu, day of the groundhog
Cause something’s telling me that of the burning third degree
Was not a constant little teaser
It was something much deeper
Knocked out cold i thought he wooped me six feet
Until i was up and startled by a shake of my sheets
It was a green eyed goddess that harbored my inner artist
She faded into the darkness and trotted into the closet
And rapidly grabbed her jacket, some scarfs, gloves, and galoshes
And tossed them onto the ottoman and let me stop for some oxygen
I said lady what’s your hurry?
Honey its hella early
It’s a quarter to 7:30
She put her hand on my chest firmly
She says she wants to take a walk in the rain
Well Mrs. Yellow Umbrella, hope you don’t mind if i say
That um, due to the rain showers i will politely decline
But i can tell by your eagerness that you’d want me to rhyme up in that limelight
One day i hope the sun gon’ shine
But if its round your hand with mine
We will never find a better of time
