Monsters In The House
I know I drain you
With my troubles every day
I don't mean to
When the sun shines let's make hay

But in my mind
It don't work like that for me
I wished that it would
Be easier for you and me

Some days are easy
And the laughter's strong and loud
We dance on air
And there's no monsters in the house

But then some days
I take a look under the bed
I'm scared to find
What's in the darkness in my head

But that's not the case
No that's not the case at all
Outside there's a beautiful day
But in my head there's a civil war

I try to understand
I try to dress the soldiers down
And when that don't work
I shed the tears of a clown
Some days I'm weary
I take a look under the hood
Scared to find
The engine's empty and no good

But then some days
The laughs are strong, we sing aloud
We dance on air
And there's no monsters in the house

I know I drain you
With my troubles every day
I don't mean to
When the sun shines let's make hay
