Art of Letting Go
I was afraid of losing what I had
Feared the thought of uncertainty
My heart refused to forget the past
Didn’t want to embrace reality
It took time before I finally surrendered
It’s still a process of trying to remember
That some things must leave, even those that promised no end
Some things have to go, go, go
So I can grow, grow, grow
Then I can glow, glow, glow
And slowly
I’m starting to learn
The art of letting go
Our stories were all written by one hand
This was part of a greater plan, hmm
Mama, you were right when you said
“The only way you’ll know if you’ve truly loved
Is when you’ve learned to set them free”
So I’ll let you be
Some things have to go, go, go
So they can grow, grow, grow
Then they can glow, glow, glow
And slowly
I’m starting to learn
The art of letting go
Truth is
Beautiful things end
As better ones bloom in replace
Some things were never supposed to stay
But I know I’m gonna be okay
