Let’s go back to the roots
Though I’m talking about myself

I have a lot of things to work with
But I’m following instrumentals
I need to let myself flow
And go back to where I was

I have grown as an artist
Matured over the years
I’ve collected more supplies
To help me explore

I use to barely write songs
But here I am now
Fearing that I’ve lost
Who I was before

But I haven’t lost anything
I am adaptable
I can improvise
I can write a song

I know I’m capable
Of doing either one
I like writing though
Is this the death of improv?
I have written songs
As far as the second album
And I have improvised
On The Berlin Wall

My improv isn’t dead
It will always stay
I won’t stop writing songs
That also isn’t dead

I’m just going back to the roots
An instrument in my hands
No instrumentals for now
I’m working with what I have
