I Remember 2006
Flames of Hope
Fire on the grass
However long it will last
Smoke merging with clouds
Destruction all around
White flags are hoisted
Corpses line the streets
Try as I can to manage my anger
I've no way of knowing if all that I hit
Was warriors and not civilians
My feet fall on the ground
I observe the scenery
People are staring at me through windows
They are terrified of what they see
I can't say I blame them
Witnessing a forgotten god's return
All they've known being shattered like stone
Or their hopes rising higher than any flame
My voices shakes the town to the core
"Stop this oppression of my people
Release them this very instant
You know you've lost; You know you can't win
Accept that this is the end of your reign."
And the forces back down
Surrendering to us
Yet all I care about
Is the Alkatesks
A child comes over to me
Taking me to surprise
They look battered and scarred
I kneel down to get closer to them
"Now, who would you be?" I ask
They look up to me and respond
"I'm Gawras, my lord."
I realize who he is
"You're the one who wrote the letter
To tell me of the oppression
Of what the Lekrests were doing to you and our people
You told me where to go
To find you here at Gearspark."
Gawras, you are the reason I'm here
To save Alkatesks from those invaders
Who took our people prisoner Millennia ago
And now we are all free
We are finally where we deserve to be
