In Case I Die Unexpectedly
You know who you are
A misty face among the people
And you know where you come from
I love you all in a different way
And just in case my time is up
My way to jest, I must lift up
The world is more than just a gift from above
It's a playground of the past and future
Holding on just might lose ya
And since the day that I first met my friends
I felt our differences would kill us
But you gave me open hands
Isn't it beautiful?
How we hold the key to trust
And although we've had our conflicts
We still don't give each other up
And in the long run, it's been so fun
And although the time is gone
We should be happy because it happened
Just feel the sunshine and not the sadness
And as the days slowly passing by
I see a sea of antique smiles
Making life feel worth the while
And the ones I loved that gladly call my name
I feel their faces burning through me, cause for each other we feel the same
You know I love you, to my teachers
To that girl I met last summer
The friends from high school
The friends from preschool
The friends who've always been right by me
To my colleagues
To my cousins
To my sister
To my parents
To the world
And the world can see my face
They see the laughter, they see the madness, and disgrace
I didn't know how honest I could be
An empty face is more than what you see
And believe me now, my mind is on the run
Too much emotion is just an overdose of fun
And at my funeral I think I see them standing there
Dressed in black with shiny shoes and pulled back hair
But the numbers I can't seem to make them out
Am I young? Or did my time run out?
The ones I loved there are an unfamiliar face
But I know that I still love them all the same
Maybe I'm not just onto something
Because I know, I know that I'm not from this time
I'm moving on to something new
But I won't forget the things before, the things that matter, the things like you
And you know who you are
And you know where you come from
