"So, um, so this one's... I feel like I can talk about my songs now, 'cause it's 10 years on, you know, it's fine. I can't talk about the ones now, of course, 'cause, you know, all my friends are here and they're all about them. So, um, so this song's, as in this album, I was going out with a guy called *bleep* who wasn't a Mormon, he was actually quite a full on Christian. And he had, like, Jesus tattooed on his arm. A little bit scary... anyway - and he was celibate, which is no fun. Actually, it was quite a bit of fun, actually, trying to make him not be. Anyway, I thought he was really great, and, um, he was, anyway, he was quite a lot older than me. I was 17. And, um, I wrote this song about him. So this is called 'Sweet Religion', but it's not about religion, it's about kind of looking up to this older man - with Jesus tattooed on his arm, good idea... - and kind of asking all these questions 'cause I thought he knew the answers, but it turned out he didn't. So this is 'Sweet Religion'."
