Cam Meekins
Big Freeze (Interlude)
[Intro]
Consciousness is, irreducibly, the subject

[Verse]
I don't feel anything
I need more Hennessy (I'm just making sure this moment lasts forever)
She said that she remembers me
I lost all my memories
Feel like I went back in time
You pushed me but I didn't die (I'm just making sure this moment lasts forever)
We still stuck in the same spot
I don't know how we got lost (Yeah)
I don't feel anything
I need more Hennessy (I'm just making sure this moment lasts forever)
She said that she remembers me
I lost all my memories
Feel like I went back in time
You pushed me but I didn't die (I'm just making sure this moment lasts forever)
We still stuck in the same spot
I don't know how we got lost (Yeah)

[Interlude 1]
What does it mean to lose something? What does it mean to have something? Did we ever even have it in the first place? How can we be sure? In fact, how can we be sure of anything other than our own consciousness?

[Interlude 2]
Consciousness is what it's like to be you

[Interlude 3]
It has been said that, as the Universe expands, eventually the supply of gas needed for star formation will be exhausted. As existing stars run out of fuel and cease to shine, the Universe will slowly and inextricably grow darker. The stilly remnants left behind will disappear leaving behind only black holes, which themselves, eventually disappear. So, if we are all made up of star dust, and we can only prove our own consciousness, then maybe the answer is as simple as this. We can't lose something and we can't have something, because something will eventually be nothing. We are just a random needle in a haystack lucky enough to be able to briefly experience consciousnesses, so enjoy it while you can
