Augustus’ Downfall
(Veruca breaks the reverie with a scream. Augustus is drinking the waterfall!)

[WILLY WONKA, spoken]
Augustus, NO! Stay away from the chocolate waterfall!

[MRS. GLOOP, spoken]
Mr. Wonka, he’s just a little peckish!

[AUGUSTUS, spoken]
Just one more handful.

[WILLY WONKA, spoken]
Augustus, please!

[AUGUSTUS, spoken]
Mr. Wonka, it’s wunderbaaaaarrr! AAAH!

(Augustus has fallen in.)

[WILLY WONKA, spoken]
Oh, dear. Quick! Bring down the diversionary plumbing!

(Factory alarms sound and a vast array of pipes descend as Augustus is sucked up the chocolate tube. The families look up and are amazed to see, amongst the plumbing, dozens of tiny workers in red boiler suits.)

[MR. SALT, spoken]
Dear God, Wonka! What in heaven’s name is…?
[MR. BEAUREGARDE, spoken]
Who in the name of pop are those people!?

[MRS. GLOOP, spoken]
Vill zey save him?

[WILLY WONKA, spoken]
No, but they’ll save my chocolate.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce the Oompa-loompas!
