The Family Crest
The Tree
Find me a seed, and I'll find you water
We'll plant ourselves here, the wind, rain, and fodder
Will add to our rings, to our life, to our legacy

We form a tree, the roots, and the branches
Locked in the soil, so shaped by the chances
Oh, we've built a home, built a place for a history

And rain will come to put out the fires, love
And we'll remain, love
A statue that lives on for years, for all time

Here in the winter, we shed off our leaves
Though seasons will change, my heart, love, it heeds
For the warmth in your glance, in your lips, in your warm embrace

When we break a branch, we'll shake off the splinters
'Cause wounds, love, they fade, and add to our shape

And rain will come to put out the fires, love
And you'll remain my only desire, love
'Cause I am yours, and you are mine

And I'll be yours for all time
In time, you wrapped your roots around me
And how I found you in the weeds
I'll never know, oh, I'll never know

You were the sea, and I was the soil
Here in the earth, our roots they did coil
Entwined, now our hearts form a life, form a legacy
