Irae
A Threnody For Grace
Do you know what it's like to stumble over stones?

Have you sailed when the winds change?

Can you walk through a valley without remorse, just to thirst and to die again?

All I know is the desert when my heart is cold, violence shadows my every step

We all walk through a valley filled with remorse, cursed to thirst and to die again

Our gaze blinded to the heavens, Lost while deep beneath the forest

Hidden in caverns of silence, now exiled to the darkness

Will your hands bind the broken? Can you break the chains that hold men?

Are they free from their prison?

Our gaze blinded to the heavens, Lost while deep beneath the forest

Hidden in caverns of silence, now exiled to the darkness

Equity lacks with my conditions. I mourn for those with contention

Lamenting grace as we behold it

Seek justice, walk humbly, and always love mercy

The judge will come, bringing absolution, before the day of total retribution
