This Life
This life is hard but it's alright
This life is hard but it’s all mine

Forty-five weeks still stuck in bed
With a crushed down body and a war in my head
Broken again and not a day goes by
Not a tear goes dry they just river down
The scars of my aging flesh no sleep, no rest
Feels like an elephant dropped like a bomb on my chest
I guess it's time to confess
I would rather burn than settle for this
Holding my breath to numb the pain
Another late night ride to the morning light
But I'm holding tight to keep me sane
Another ruthless fight trying to decompress
Been crushed by the giants, been slave to the meds
And if time stood still I couldn’t care less
Nothing dries in the cold, nothing shines in the dark
Everything burns with all the dreams I had

Slowly falling down, head first to the ground

Seconds beat the hour then days that fled
All the hopes I had they hang from a thread
Embrace the change and train the pain
Then learn to live from scratch again
Focus on what may lie ahead
Be proud of the scars but let them fade in the past
Count your life by the times we bled
A painful reminder we fought the rest
This life is hard but it's alright
This life is hard but it's all mine
Won't just bleed to death counting days till it's over
I'm gonna get up and start a fight
Slowly falling down, head first to the ground

One by one like a firework show
One by one down my dreams they go
One by one they burn my soul
None will ever come back I know

This life is hard but it's alright
This life is hard but it's all mine
I won’t just bleed to death counting days till it’s over
I'm gonna get up and start a fight

Day in
Day out
This life
We found

This life is hard but it’s alright
This life is hard but it's all mine
