There's a song on the Nylon Curtain that I wrote for my friends who were veterans of Vietnam
They told me they wanted me to write a song for them
And I said, "Well, I didn't go to Vietnam, I don't think I have credibility to write a song"
And they said, "We'll tell you what we went through"
There was never a song really written from the soldier's point of view
Not whether it was wrong, whether it was right
It was just, "How did you feel when you werе over there?"
