The first piece that I finished in its entirety was called "Soliloquy (On A Separation)"
Which was about my daughter visiting with me after we got divorced, and then leaving
And those emotions I was having weren't something I could easily write with lyrics
And I said, "Why do I have to say that?"
"The music is saying it"
Maybe at that point in my life, I was ready to express myself purely with music
