Hope for the Business
Pray that my lyrics resonate with all the greats and all the favorites
Lately we've been looking a whole lot less than amazing
To be honest, I've been losing patience
Cause you know you gotta make some changes
But haven't made em out of being complacent
Walking through all these stadiums, standing on these stages
Put it all on the line to put smiles up on they faces
Walk back through the curtains
That bad feeling emerges
That I've been trying to work with, but I just can't erase it
I hear a whole lot of grumbling
But we're hiding up under it
Cause talking about it really might stir up a troubling
It's smooth on the outside, but inside I've been struggling
And sad to think about it but I've been really been wondering
What the women around me haven't yet spoken of
Barely holding on and feeling broken up
Glad that we saw a chance to let that erupt
I'mma back you up and tell the whole world that I've had enough
I don't want anyone feeling lost or uncomfortable
And that goes for anybody you work for
None of these policies or these things are untouchable
To show everybody here that they're worth more
Closing the gap and opening maps
For the people to detach what they're holding on their back
There's a whole lotta problems with the world and where it's at
But we can do our part if we can work on what we lack
Pray you hear the words on this microphone I record with
Pray you see the color of the skin that I was born with
Pray you stand with me when I fight against the evil
Cause I'm fighting for the issues that are violent toward my people
Pray for every statement you're making and that you're meaning it
Representation to be reflected in your leadership
Shoutout to the people who are truly committed
To making a difference in these corporate systems
We have the power to entertain
We have the power to make a change
That’s the preference
Those who have been hurting now we’re focused on your betterment
Let's step inside the office, make a plan and then develop it
Look-
Let us not have this same conversation in ten years
I’m hoping it ends here
Let us not have this same conversation in ten years
I’m hoping it ends here
(I wrestle with the flow)
