Genius UK Biweekly Update #6
📅 Date: May 13 - May 27
Hey all! Hope you've had a great two weeks! There's big news, and even bigger music, so let's see what's up!NewsIf you're a fan of Lewis Capaldi, you're in luck: he's announced that he's touring major parts of the UK, arena by arena, in 2020. He's performing at Wembley, the 02 Apollo, and other places! Each ticket also comes with a LIVELINE, with an email address that can be used to communicate with people who can help with self-anxiety. Capaldi did this because,I always get tonnes of messages from people online who have said they want to come to my shows but can’t because they’re struggling massively with anxiety or are just generally afraid they will have a panic attack during the show. You also might have watched Bohemian Rhapsody - not the music video, but the film about the legendary band Queen. However, according to Brian May, they haven't been paid a penny, even though it's the most-profitable biopic to date. Rami Malek, who played the frontman Freddie Mercury, won four Oscars and two Golden Globes for his role; still, however, Queen hasn't been paid at all.I had to laugh the other day because there’s a thing in the paper saying that we were getting rich off this movie. And possibly the most unexpected UK collab of the year - the frontman of the band Kasabian, Serge Pizzorno, announced that he's releasing a single with Little Simz, whose album GREY AREA is seen to be AOTY by many. "Favourites" will appear on his solo project entitled The S.L.P. Watch out for that one!ProjectsWiley CleanupWe're in Stage #2 at the moment in this cleanup, and Wiley's Tunnel Vision series is almost complete! Let's grind to the end of this stage before continuing.Genius UK DiscordShameless plug - the Genius UK Discord is a great place to chat about music with fellow UK guys.
