Genius UK Biweekly Update #12
📅 Date: November 18 - December 2NewsFor all those wondering about Glastonbury 2020, it's been confirmed that Paul McCartney is headlining. For the 50th anniversary of the festival, the Beatle will return to the venue of his first-ever stage show and play just a week after his 78th birthday. The festival founder's daughter said:There really was no-one that we wanted more for the 50th anniversary. Having Paul McCartney coming back to headline the Pyramid for the second time next year is an absolute dream come true. The MOBOs are also returning for 2020, having taken a two-year break to "bring the platform to brand new heights". Previous winners include Stormzy, Laura Mvula, Dave, Krept & Konan and Sam Smith. Although its disappearance surprised the industry, other events did their best to pick up the slack, with 2018—the first year without the MOBOS—seeing Stormzy winning best album and best male solo artist at the Brits.
Meanwhile, the late Keith Flint's possessions—including his bed, number plates and paintings—were all sold for £374K. Interest came from all around Europe, with The Progidy star's MTV awards being the most expensive lot, selling for £16,000.New ReleasesAlbumsThis week's new releases include Skinny Living's No Messiah and Maverick Sabre's When I Wake Up (Acoustic).
