That said, Stormzy is hot on his heels with his long-awaited album Heavy Is The Head, which boasts features from Ed Sheeran, Burna Boy and H.E.R. Other candidates include Dua Lipa with "Don't Start Now" and Lewis Capaldi with "Before You Go". Meanwhile, classics like "Last Christmas" by Wham! are hoped to earn the crown.
Moving on from Christmas news, Stormzy's primary school teacher phoned in to BBC Radio 2 to talk about him.
