Orphan No More Co
Resurrection In My Veins
I was trying so hard, filling whole books with facades
But then I arrived where there was no more road
And I fell off the end of the page
And I wasn't sure if I would ever draw or use words to paint again
And as I fell from the edge of all my good ideas and great escapes I was embraced by the grave
And in that place there was some sort of weird exchange and I gave my life into the hands of this Man
In that cave He told me things I will never be able to truly explain in this carnal frame
But one thing I clearly remember, as we walked out of that cold and dark place together
He whispered that this would be the last time I ever taste the bitterness of death again
And as I left that grave and entered the world I felt the sun ray of some sort of new day hit my face I got surprised by joy
See I was aware of the war but somehow saturated by hope
And I can feel resurrection now pulsating through my veins
And I started touching dead things just so I could watch them come alive
I wasn’t afraid anymore
And the Man told me about a truth that no amount of fear could distort
He told how His Father caught the devil and together they pushed their foot into his neck
And simultaneously all of creation screamed of all the breath that it possessed
Life stronger than death
And then He handed me this blank cheque and said that my debt has been paid
And ever since that day that I walked out the grave I've had this righteous rage
Writing about the stone that was rolled away just to expose the lies
See the Man told me that I'm the devils demise
And that He’s the sunrise that no darkness could hide
He told me that He's the sunrise and there's no darkness that could hide
