Matthew 5:3
[Intro: JeVo'n]
Ooh, Lordy, Lord
{Sings}
[Verse 1: JustPierre]
We really live it, we really live it
God wants full custody, not just weekend visits
But we be tripping, thinking God's alright with that
Gave His Son to buy us back from the lion's trap
Not for us to wound up back, man, we got our lies intact
Quick to say we married to the Lord, but creep behind His back
Tell me where they do that at? Tell me, bro, why is that
The way to life is narrow, but the destruction is a wider gap?
I see the devil calling, but I'm declining that
Shot me a text message, I'm not replying back
Burning rubber on the devil, see my tire tracks
I'm fleeing youthful lusts, ain't nobody got time for that
Walking humbly with my God, not a pious cat
Blessed are the poor in spirit, Lord, I'm in lack
I see my deficiencies, without You, I'm incomplete
Lord, You are the Missing Piece, this is Matthew 5 and 3
[Chorus: JeVo'n]
Blessed is the poor in the spirit
Blessed is the poor in the spirit
For theirs is the kingdom, theirs is the kingdom
Theirs is the kingdom of Heaven
Blessed is the poor in the spirit
Blessed is the poor in the spirit
For theirs is the kingdom, theirs is the kingdom
Theirs is the kingdom of Heaven
[Verse 2: JustPierre]
When you talk about Hell, they say it's 'scare' tactic
But it's 'reality check, get you prepared' tactic
'Place your hope in the Savior, don't end up there' tactic
'Burning in Hell for million-billions of years' tactic
'Scare' tactic, really, bro? That's so silly, yo
We all think about what happens when we go
Tell me I'm lying, I'll be quiet, right now
And them pigs in the sky will be flying, right now, uh
The truth is evident, Solution's Heaven-sent
Heaven's real, but none is good enough to merit it
Not with your 401(k) plan with Merrill Lynch
Or nothing we own, so dream on, Aerosmith
The enmity with us and God, He took care of it
Endured the cross, despised the shame and the embarrassment
The proper response to the One and Only Savior
Is to admit that we need saving, and let Him come in and save us
Yeah
[Chorus: JeVo'n]
