- "How does it feel to be shortlisted?"

  FKA twigs:
• I feel incredibly honored to be shortlisted, the last two years I've been working so hard to be the best artist that I can be in terms of songwriting, production and directing my music videos and sometimes you can just be inside a little bubble in your studio making music so it's really amazing just to know that people listening and people care just to be herе among such wonderful artists as well

- "What were the stand out moments for you during writing and recording your album?"

  FKA twigs:
• The most precious moment for me in recording my album is when things really clicked for me as a producer in terms of discovering my own sonic template and discovering instruments and programming and ways I could really express what I was feeling and enhance the words that I was saying through sound and I think the last three months as a producer I really identified who I was and just became so much more confident in. I guess kind of geeking out in front of the computer and just being in those 24-hour locked in sessions where you're just finishing things. You know, it was something when I first started writing I was 16 years-old I never could have imagined that on my debut album I'd be producing the majority of it as well so, I guess that was the best moment for me

- "Apart from your album, which is your favourite album on this year's shortlist?"

  FKA twigs:
• To be honest I haven't had the chance to listen to any artist full body of work but I'm really excited to go and have a look through and it's great to be there with my label mates Jungle as well

- "What was the first album you bought?"

  FKA twigs:
• The first album that I've ever bought was Prince - Emancipation I bought it when I was 8 years-old and I didn't really fully understand it at the time but I understood that Prince was an artist that was just really unique and somebody who didn't really care what people thought and somebody who was an all-around artist in terms of playing so many instruments and just be involved in so many aspects of what he did so I think in that way the album and Prince obviously inspired me

• You know? Take my time for songs come quick like Swim Good came quick, I wrote that in like half an hour. You know? American Wedding took me a week and a half. You know it really just depends you know on what the story is and just getting that off like lyrics sheets, to read correctly

- "So you spend a lot of time on lyrics and more melody?"

  Frank Ocean:
• Melody? Melody isn't difficult. Melody is easy. 'Cause melody is always bad when you're overthinking. Always, every time yeah. Lyrics? You know people overthink it or whatever... Lyrics should be thought about depending on the style of story-telling you're employing at that time. You know? If you're re-writing Hotel California, you should probably think about it a couple times. You know? You should probably consider the narrative-
