From their growth as performers to their favorite fan interactions, join us as we dive into what makes PATTERN a standout in the K-pop landscape.
──Hello, PATTERN! Thank you for taking the time to speak with us today. Please introduce yourself to Genius readers.

Hello to everyone who loves pattern! We're an idol group consisting of Jinu (vocalist), JJ (rapper), Koon (vocalist), Haemin (vocalist) and Kyo (vocalist and rapper). We're a group that is always preparing for something different from the last time because we want to show a new "PATTERN."

──In May, PATTERN released their single album, attraction, with two brand new tracks, “Magnetic” and “Pairing” included. Are there any challenges you encountered while creating this single album, and how did you overcome them?

When we were preparing the song "Pairing," which is meaningful and special to us, we wanted to do a good job on it since it was our first fan song.

──Of all the songs you’ve released so far since debut, could each member share their personal favorite and why?

All of the members like "Pairing" the most since it was our first fan song and all of us participated in its production!
──Reflecting on your journey since debuting in 2022, as we approach 2025, how do you feel you have grown both as a group?

We've become more in sync as a team and more professional with our individual stage performance skills since the beginning.

──In addition to your recent single album, back in October, you celebrated the group’s 2nd Anniversary with a special free event at K-Stage O! How was that experience, and how did it differ from the shows you have performed in Korea?

It's been two years since we debuted in Japan, so we made a lot of good memories and felt many touching emotions.

──As PATTERN continues to establish its presence in Japan, what exciting future activities can local fans look forward to?

In addition to Tokyo, where we perform most often, we'd like to meet PAIRINGs who are waiting for Pattern all over Japan.

──In November, PATTERN became an independent artist after leaving their previous company. Can you tell us a little about this change and how PATTERN has adapted to this change? How do you feel the change will positively affect your future activities?
We don't think it's much different, since we're always working tirelessly to show you good music and great performances!
──Your group recently hosted a “Video Call Event” to interact with fans. What was it like to engage with fans in this remote format? Could you share any memorable moments from these interactions, whether they brought you joy or posed challenges in your responses?

We're really happy to be able to communicate with fans through video calls. It's nice to have this option because it has a different charm from meeting in person! All the moments we've shared with PAIRING in video calls and elsewhere are cherished and remembered by the members.

──When you are in Japan, are there specific places, shops, or local foods that you always look forward to visiting or trying every time you come?

We'd like to recommend K-STAGE! O in Shin-Okubo, since you can see Pattern's live performances there. The members visit the Hosigi Double Chicken in Shin-Okubo often (the sign might have the name "88 Retro Pocha" now, though). It's really delicious.

──Before we conclude the interview, is there anything you would like to say to your fans and Genius readers?

Hello, Genius Japan readers! Thanks for reading our interview. We'll be coming to you with a variety of music and activities, so please stay tuned!
