Adding Cover Songs to Genius
Navigation※ Search for Original PageFirst and foremost before transcribing a song cover is to search for the original song page. You will need this when editing the metadata to connect it. You may make the original page if it does not exists.※ Search for DuplicatesAlways search for duplicates after you finished adding or confirming if there's an original page for the song cover you are adding. This will ensure that you are not putting hard work into a transcription only to have it deleted.※ Cover Song FormatIt is acceptable to use thе name of the person who covеred the song as the "Primary Artist." You can fill the Metadata (i.e Written By, Produced By, etc.) for official cover, cover songs which are distributed to commercial platform (e.g., Apple Music, Mora, Youtube Music, etc.). For unofficial cover, you must remember to leave "Written By" and "Produced By" as blank. Unofficial covers are cover songs which are not distributed to commercial platform, though uploaded on Youtube/Soundcloud and may not gain any revenue.
Lyrics used must be the original lyric, not romanized lyric or other translated lyrics (e.g. English). Exceptions if the song was sung in English or other languages. If it is indeed sung in another language, a translator must be provided in the credits section or if the person who sung the song, provided the lyrics himself, you may add him as the translator.

As for tags, adding Cover is required. You can also add other tags. (Just a reminder when adding Vocaloid tag, the song must have at least a synthesizer/voicebank in use.)※ Connecting to Original SongCover song pages must be connected to its original page through metadata in 'Song Relationships' section as "Cover Of".

Although, it is not recommended you can still add translation pages especially if the lyrics are modified.
Exceptions can be made, if:Songs covered by their respective artist, such as 約束 by はるまきごはん's Vocal ver. cover for the Vocaloid ver., as this will fall in remix. Cover song pages are connected through metadata in 'Song Relationships' section as "Remix Of".Commision songs by artists.
