George The Poet
If I Gotta Go
[Spoken Word: George The Poet]
If I've gotta go jail I'm coming out stronger
Been having demons to conquer
Could've stayed free and not been here much longer
God's got a plan for me and it pans out annually
A new year's ago like December to January
Man had to fend for my family
Certain man never had the mental capacity
Me, my name is still my name
Anywhere they put me I can make you feel my pain
If I've gotta go jail I'm standing firm
Got a few ways that a man can earn
Do what I must where the fam concerned
Put no faith in a random girl
Baby let the fragrance candle burn
Not еverything you can understand or learn
I nеver ran or squandered
My people slaughter chickens, we can handle birds
Now picture the wing I'm writing you from
Rich like a king, my mind is too strong
Bounce back cause I've been grinding too long
I take my mistakes and write some new songs
Lord knows I don't try to do wrong
Lord knows I try to move on
But if it's me against the world, whose side are you on?
It's people like me that ride for you don
If I've gotta go jail, oh well
Don't think I can't shock the whole world
Even if the judge ain't granting no bail
I don't know about you my brudda
But I'm in control of my own self
Incarceration is preservation
