Greatest Years Ever
Growing up, I lived a life of privilege
Had my own place on Busbee, But I fucked shit up on Milledge
Truthfully I was everywhere, every bar on Broad street
Me and the squad would be everywhere the broads meet
One time I got it in where they separate their laundry
To my right was some tide, on my left was some snuggle
All I did was chuckle as she loosened up my buckle
And I'm thinking to myself, "Man this girl is in trouble"
And after a little scuffle, I left her in a puddle
And I was out the next morning cause we weren't no married couple
In retrospect, I did that chick in the worst way
But in the moment I was like "Shit, it's only Thursday"
First night of the weekend, and we already acting reckless
4 highways home to Cobb to catch the buffet breakfast
Living so good, life with no obligations
I was Playing playstation ditchin work for "vacaction"
Making liquor store runs with Belk out the equation
The short ride home always seemed to try my patience
Making mixed drinks, all my homies saying "taste this"
We all making faces as we racing through some cases
Midway through the bullshit, the hoes start arriving
I turned the stereo up and then dimmed the lighting
Packed apartment parties used to happen every single day
But we never stopped turning up, despite the noise complaints
Neighbors always bitchin, but their cries were ignored
As people filed through the door
Like the COGs against the Horde
And if my dogs wanted more, I simply make a call or two
It was madness, my habitat was damaged
Steadily wreaking havoc, convinced that we were savages
We weren't no better
A couple years passed, but we ain't no better
Still don't give a fuck in the morning when she leaving me
Cause now a days only thing different is the scenery
Still rolling with the same n***as from the starting gate
We keep it One hundred, Got a good retention rate
One thing that I've noticed ever since I started rhyming
Is that in any situation I can find the silver lining
We'd be fine dining before we start to grind on Saturdays
With a hellish hangovers dog, we'd still catch a matinee
Go to work after, earn some cash, spend it quick
After work hit a lick, and spend the tips on a fifth
Sip the mix n tell a chick to bring her clique
Tonight
Told em all they could crash at my crib
Tonight
I made a conscious effort to get the wallflowers involved
Running game on em all whether short, slim, fat or tall
And I really liked em all
But had my eyes on one
Told my homies fall back or I might try someone
Made a move on her, but whiskey had me fucked up
I know I said some things to her that a sober n***a wouldn't of...
But fuck it
Everybody slips up
Just know my goons would doom any dude who'd choose to get buck
Get up Sunday morning laugh about it in my apartment
As people are coming by to get their belongings off my carpet
Liquors quenched my thirst and I was never famished
The greatest years ever, I'ma miss em when they vanish
