Zae da Blacksmith
Moving In
[Verse 1]
Ayo, I love to pull up to a job and jump out the truck
Fire showing, time to go to work, that's what's up
Nah, I don't got a death wish, this is how I live
But there's nothing that I'd rather do and that's just what it is
Everybody do they part, this is how I'm doing mine
Yeah, I understand I put my life on the line
But to live is Christ and to die is gain
Though if He's not your Messiah, we are not the same, bro
I could be a line-of-duty death, that's undeniable
Yeah, my body's vulnerable, but my soul is fireproof
I'm sort of like Iron Man, he's the master blacksmith
I got a new heart from a God who's a craftsman
I'm His iron, fire just makes me pliable
Just a living stone getting thrown by His catapult
Grinding as the clock ticks and when it's time to go
I ain't packing for this trip 'cause Earth isn't my home, let's go
[Verse 2]
Any given day I step out with the uniform on
Ain't no guarantees that I'm ever gon' come home
That's the kind of thoughts that I'm pushing to the side
As I'm walking out of the crib and I jump into the ride
The truth is on a daily basis I take it for granted
Lord, help me to redeem these days I'm given on this planet
I wanna be a motivated, dedicated fireman
My crew can rely on as I know I can rely on 'em
Help my life show I know You let my acts commend you
I'm rough around the edges, not the best to represent You
I let folly and a lack of self-control get the best of me
Running 'round like a young soul, steady gesturing
I may not be the best example of a faithful witness
But I'm praying for the day they partake in Your forgiveness
'Cause none can stand a chance before the all-consuming fire
So I pray for saving grace before the day-to-day expires, please
[Verse 3]
You tugging on my heart, Lord, tryna pull me closer
Help me to respond the way I know that I'm supposed to
I don't wanna be up in these trenches going through the motions
Help my cup to overflow until it's soaking up the coaster
I got a hope in living with the world that I know of
Help me labor in the faith and build, sort of like I'm Noah
Come and jump into this ark with me, 'cause them drops dripping
And every day that's passing by, that's that clock ticking
Six million ways to go, I seen my fair share
Of bodies separated from they soul but I'm still here
Tryna make the most of moments with my friends and family
Yet focusing my hope on when the Lord redeems humanity
Those the kind of thoughts that we be pushing to the side
But the Christian looks to Him who's risen, Jesus is alive
And since He saved me from eternal fire, He's the one I boast in
Draw me nearer to You, Father, 'cause this body's getting closer, for sure
