I Don’t Know
The TV told me that I can't avoid the bad news,
So I turned it off and checked my watch and now it's past noon.
Take a moment take a walk outside,
Send a text so I can check the time that you'll arrive.
I wonder what to expect,
Look at how I'm dressed,
Think we'll talk about the fact that work makes you stressed.
I think about the things that we might say,
Maybe talk about the weather or how we don't feel the same,
How we don't feel the same.

I don't know how to tell you,
Tell you that I love you but not how I used to.
I don't know how to tell you,
Tell you that I love you but not how I should do.
There's always a place in my heart
And you were there for me when things got dark but
I don't know how to tell you
Tell you that I love you but not how I used to.

Your hands wrapped around a lukewarm tea,
Clinging to the heat like you used to hold me.
It's so silent now but we can't speak,
Caught up in the moment trying to make ends meet.
I don't know what to expect,
What happens next.
If we talk about the fact that there is nothing left.
I think about the things that we might say,
So I talk about the weather not that we don't feel the same,
we don't feel the same.
I don't know how to tell you,
Tell you that I love you but not how I used to.
I don't know how to tell you,
Tell you that I love you but not how I should do.
There's always a place in my heart
And you were there for me when things got dark but
I don't know how to tell you,
Tell you that I love you but not how I used to.

Made you breakfast babe,
But this is probably the last time.
Same book, different page,
This is probably the last line.
Tears roll down both our cheeks
Bittersweet, half sick and half relieved
I wanna be there and you do, too,
But this is maybe something that we can't undo.
You put your hands either side of my face,
Looked into my eyes and I watched you say,

I don't know how to tell you,
Tell you that I love you but not how I used to.
I don't know how to tell you,
Tell you that I love you but not how I should do.
There's always a place in my heart
And you were there for me when things got dark but
I don't know how to tell you,
Tell you that I love you but not how I used to.
I don't know how to tell you,
Tell you that I love you but not how I used to.
I don't know how to tell you,
Tell you that I love you but not how I should do.
There's always a place in my heart
And you were there for me when things got dark but
I don't know how to tell you,
Tell you that I love you, but not how I used to.
