Do What I Do
[Intro]
Alright,
This one
Sorta kinda
Goes a little
Something like this

[Hook]
"Do what I do" (4x)
Smoke a little smoke
Drink a little drink
That's all you'll ever be
That's how you'll always think
"Do what I do" (4x)
Put that weed in a bong
And smoke it all day long
Don't listen to your mentors
Even if they tell you it's wrong

[Verse 1]
Now imagine your kid as a sponge and this sponge goes to school
He absorbs all that knowledge like a car uses fuel
But in the future he learns fast and treats it like a tool
He obeys all the rules but the kids tell him he ain't cool
So he goes in their direction, tryin' to be like them
So they'll see him as a friend and not as a wimp
They tell him to inhale these leafs they're not playin'
They'll shoot him in the back if he tries to leave
He don't need parental clearance, they do this in a locked room
So theres no interference
He just wants respect  and possibly admission
He don't give a shit  bout' his parents permission
They say that he'll feel better but ironically feels worse
They also told him that it's cool to skip church and curse
And they say

[Hook]
"Do what I do" (4x)
Smoke a little smoke
Drink a little drink
That's all you'll ever be
That's how you'll always think
"Do what I do" (4x)
Put that weed in a bong
And smoke it all day long
Don't listen to your mentors
Even if they tell you it's wrong

[Verse 2]
Now as the sponge grows older his mind is now bolder
He's now sellin' the leafs himself watchin' them go from green to smoldered
Like from spring to winter, he can't stop
Even though the pain hurts worse than a splinter
But remember like a tree  he'll eventually timber
Cause what goes up must come down
Like Chris Brown with a temper he'll have to hit his girlfriend
Before he finally remebers
Why he feels so lost like a pupil with no mentor
He sold everything he got
Money, wallet and watch
So busy tryin' to not get caught that he forgot what he was taught
He thought that he was safe but apparently was not
Spends awhile in the slammer cause his demons were not fought
His glory was not sought, his freedom is now through
All because he did what they told them to do
And they say

[Hook]

[Verse 3]
Now as the sponge leaves prison
He meets his son for the first time and finally sees what he's been missin'
Just a young boy caught in the same situation
How could all these mistakes carry onto the next generation?
And they ask him "How could you take care of a son after what you've done"
But he proved them wrong took care of him all summer long
This sponge has grown older but he ain't a sponge no more no, this sponge is a plunger
He cleans out the lies of his son as he gets older
He shows him the right ways to live his life even bolder
He shows no rebellion cause he knows his father is a felon
But even he's got mistake repellant he sits him down and tells 'em

[Hook]
"Don't do what I did
Or do what they did" (2x)
Don't smoke any smoke
Don't drink any drink
Cause that's all you'll ever be
And that's how you'll always think
"Don't do what I did
Or do what they did" (2x)
Don't put that weed in a bong
You'll have to smoke it all day long
Listen to your mentors
Especially when they tell you it's wrong
