THE SUNRISE SONG
Staring out from the table in the kitchen
Cold tiles sitting under my barefeet
No sunrise overcast in the morning
No one walking up and down my street
I’ll lay back down and toss around
Thinking ‘bout what you said to me
But I’ll feel fine if not tonight or tomorrow
Soon enough I’ll get another night of sleep
Slink away, drink some water, use the bathroom
Write a list of everything that troubles me
Tip toes tap with the worn paperback
And I sneak back into your arms quietly
And I’m not sure what I’ll have learned
After the book I’m reading is complete
But I’ll drift off if not tonight or tomorrow
Soon enough I’ll get another night of sleep
And I’m not sure what I’ll have learned
After the book I’m writing is complete
But I’ll drift off if not tonight or tomorrow
Soon enough I’ll get another night of sleep
Yeah, I’ll feel fine if not tonight or tomorrow
Soon enough I’ll get another night of sleep
Soon enough I’ll get another night of sleep
Soon enough I’ll get another night of sleep
Soon enough I’ll get another night of sleep
