Eye Contact
Up with the sun as these windows rattle
I see a fire burning clean and true
Inhale the smoke and I choke, but it's worth it
If you would only let me smoke you

Who broke your thumb? Now I come to realise
Not as important as they always say
Turn off my think, and I live on instinct
If I leave all my wet thoughts outside with the rain
Will you still come and clean me up?

When did it get so hard, to match
This eye contact? My lens got cracked
Now I can't see your face
Or find your secret hiding place
So use, your voice
The one I found through so much noise
You saved me once before
And you have got it in you still, I'm sure

In with the tide, now I'm salted and sunburnt
Flow down and windswept to our new home
Look at the sky, and it all seems so simple
So why am I in London drinking alone?

Under the thumb, now I'm old, I realise
Not as important as I always said
You had a right to be worried so early
And I won't have to ransom for any kind of shame
But you still have to pick me up...
When did it get so hard, to match
This eye contact? My lens got cracked
Now I can't see your face
Or find your secret hiding place
Don't lose, your voice
The one I found through so much noise
You saved me once before
And you have got it in you still, I'm sure

When did it get so hard?

When did it get so hard, to match
This eye contact? My lens got cracked
Now I can't see your face
Or find your secret hiding place
So use, your voice
The one I found through so much noise
You saved me once before
And you have got it in you still, I'm sure
