Cash Cash Remix Intro
[Spoken: P!nk]
I've always felt very misunderstood. When everybody's walking in a single file line, I have to walk diagonal. Classic schizophrenia. I signed up for this life before I got here. I chose all the challenged, I chose all the pain of my childhood. And I thought if I talked about real stuff, I could maybe one day be a songwriter. I feel [?] and not be afraid of pain. It's the connection, that motivates me. I need to know that my pain is helping your pain. A long time ago, I decided that no matter where I went, or what I did with my life, I was always gonna be very true to myself. I have always identified with people that struggle. Just being able to help people that, is the stuff that keeps me going. We all wanna be loved, we all wanna be protected, we're all P!nk on the inside. We all bleed red, we all cry clear tears, we all put one foot in front of the other. We wanna have faith in our worlds. "I'm trouble now, yeah, trouble now, I'm trouble."
[Spoken: P!nk, Oprah Winfrey]
I think a lot of women are afraid of feminism. And that's a shame. I'm not afraid to be a strong woman. This is who you are, this is how you are born. I wish for women to stop apologizing. Girl power, haha. I'm grateful if I've kept one girl from feeling different, or ugly, or unimpowered, to have to fight for rights, respect, and love, kindness, and compassion. And you have to be willing to die for it. For all the strife and economic woes in the world, religious intolerance, global warming, it boggles my mind that we're spending time energy and money trying to fan love. I don't want there to be gay marriage, I just want there to be happy marriage. And lasting marriage. I don't think the human experience should be covered up. I think it should be lived out loud. I see the truth and other people that's happening. And I want them to feel comfortable being that. It felt transcendant, it felt like taking us into the music. The music alone is gonna keep me going. I've own and embraced my integrity, and I feel like I have a lot of fight still left in me
[Spoken: P!nk]
We've been failed by our government, there's a lot of people that feel forgotten, and invisible, and made to feel less than wanted, and unloved. And it hurts my heart, it makes me very angry. I will do everything I can to open peoples hearts, ears, minds, cause I'm not going anywhere. I've seen change, and I have to believe that change is possible, because if I stop belieing that, than it's just a little too much for me. So I have a pen and I write, I write about that
What About Us
[Intro]
La-da-da-da-da, la-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da
[Verse 1]
We are searchlights, we can see in the dark
We are rockets, pointed up at the stars
We are billions of beautiful hearts
And you sold us down the river too far
[Chorus]
What about us?
What about all the times you said you had the answers?
What about us?
What about all the broken happy ever afters?
What about us?
What about all the plans that ended in disaster?
What about love? What about trust?
What about us?
[Verse 2]
We are problems that want to be solved
We are children that need to be loved
We were willin', we came when you called
But man, you fooled us, enough is enough, oh
[Chorus]
What about us?
What about all the times you said you had the answers?
What about us?
What about all the broken happy ever afters?
Oh, what about us?
What about all the plans that ended in disaster?
Oh, what about love? What about trust?
What about us?
Oh-oh, what about us?
What about all the plans that ended in disaster?
What about love? What about trust?
What about us?
[Bridge]
Sticks and stones, they may break these bones
But then I'll be ready, are you ready?
It's the start of us, waking up, come on
Are you ready? I'll be ready
I don't want control, I want to let go
Are you ready? I'll be ready
'Cause now it's time to let them know
We are ready, what about us?
[Chorus]
What about us?
What about all the times you said you had the answers?
So what about us?
What about all the broken happy ever afters?
Oh, what about us?
What about all the plans that ended in disaster?
Oh, what about love? What about trust?
What about us?
[Outro]
What about us?
What about us?
What about us?
What about us?
What about us?
What about us?
