Hello Sparks
Enclosed with this letter you will find:
The contract with 2 copies, one that you need to sign and please send back to us as soon as possible, and one for you, and most important, the CD-R with your samples
The conceptual outline of the project, 'One Word, One Sound' is as follows:
The word is taken from a recording reading or performance by an author. For the sound we have recorded a piece of paper being, for example, crumbled or ripped apart
Your word is 'Kakadu', spoken by Richard Huеlsenbeck, one of thе initiators of the Dada movement. The sound is a finger snapping against a piece of paper
You can use these two samples in whichever way you want, add to them whatever you want. Apart from giving you the samples, we do not interfere in the creation of the piece
As for the further details of the program, the piece should be between 5 and 8 minutes long. The piece is going to be broadcasted as well as issued on compact disc
The payment is 25 hundred deutsche marks
