Sleeping Beauty
Needle goes in and the pain fades out
Needle goes in and the pain fades out
Needle goes in and the pain fades out
Needle goes in and the pain fades out
I woke up again today
I’m glad nobody saw
I looked around my little cell
It hadn’t changed at all
They try to burn the thorns around the tower of my heart
They fear the wounds that never close
The pulse that never starts
They find the pins I’ve hidden
But they never find them all
So I scratch another day into the wall
And the needle goes in and the pain fades out
Needle goes in and the pain fades out
Needle goes in and the pain fades out
Needle goes in and the pain fades out
Theories all around
But it makes no real impression
They assume I’m in here suffering
That it’s not my self-expression
I want this isolation
It’s the only thing that helps me
They think I want a saviour
Who defines me as unhealthy
They find the pins I’ve hidden
But they never find them all
So I scratch another day into the wall
And the needle goes in and the pain fades out
Needle goes in and the pain fades out
Needle goes in and the pain fades out
Needle goes in and the pain fades out
