I Saw the Light (Live)
[Spoken Intro: Mike Roe]
Every Saturday morning was quite an experience when I was a kid. My dad used to crank up the country music station and play it for three, four hours at a time. It was like a Chinese water torture, but I eventually learned to love it, and this is one of the songs I used to hear quite often. Hank Williams wrote it, but the Bill Monroe sort of bluegrass version was the one that I liked quite a bit. So we thought we'd do it for some of the old-timers and for some younger people that maybe have never seen a banjo before and might think its a synthesizer or something. I'd also like to dedicate this to Louis. Okay, fire it up. Let's do it fast this time.

[Verse 1]
I wandered aimless, life filled with sin
I wouldn't let my dear savior in
Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night
Praise the Lord, I saw the light

[Chorus]
I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I'm so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
Aw, pick it, Dann

[Banjo Solo]

[Verse 2]
Just like a blind man, I wandered along
Worries and fears I claimed for my own
Then like the blind man that God gave back his sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light

[Chorus]
Well, I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I'm so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light
Aw, take it one more time
[Banjo Solo]

[Verse 3]
I was a fool to wander and stray
Straight is the gate, and narrow the way
Now I have traded the wrong for the right
Praise the Lord, I saw the light

[Chorus]
I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I'm so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light

[Chorus]
Yeah, I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I'm so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light

[Spoken Outro: Roe]
Y'all come back now, hear?

[Spoken Outro: Unknown]
Whoo! That's great. That'll stand your hair right on end, won't it? Thanks, Mike. Whoo! I can tell Mike's growing spiritually, he's getting closer to God's music all the time.
