This Little House
This little house has been good to me
Its a peaceful feeling just to turn the key
Its given warmth and security
And what more do we really need?
Ive seen every scratch and her every creek
Me and dad planted the maple tree
I put some miles on that old porch swing
Rocking to the rainy nights
And I dont know where Ill go from here
Or how the days turned to years
And I cant get sentimental cause I know only people make the home
But this little house has been good to me
Ive smelled birthday cakes and Christmas trees
Ive stacked dishes in that kitchen sink with grandma Thanksgiving Day
I thought Id live here for my kids to see
But life changes got the best of me
One day Ill drive em down this little street and show em my old stomping grounds
And I dont know where Ill go from here
And how the days turned to years
And I cant get sentimental cause I know only people make the home
But this little house has been good to me
People come and go but it never leaves
It was raining as I packed so you couldnt see the tear drop when I drove away
