Dottie Peoples
Get Right Church (Story)
Now ladies and gentlemen
I want you to put your hands together
And welcome Reverend Jasper Williams Jr. of the Salem Baptist Church
Time
Let me hear that clock
Clock, clock
Tick, tock
Tick, tock
Tick, tock
God is giving you time and God is giving you time right here, right now
It's not a matter, ladies and gentlemen, of how old you are
How young you are
Whether you're in your
Tender teens
Your teachable 20's
Your tireless 30's
Your forceable 40's
Your fearful 50's
Your seasoned 60's
Your seven 70's
Aching 80's
Nebulous 90's
Or prodigious 100's
Time is winding up
And we better set our houses in order while we got time
Somebody oughta say, yes lord
I don't care who you are
I don't care how young you are
Makes no difference where you going or how you're getting there
You young people in this room, you're teenagers,
You in the dawn of your life
Those of you that are 20, 25, and 30,
you're in the morning of your life
Those of you 35, 40, and 45,
you're in the noonday of your life
Those of you that are 50, 55, and 60,
we're in the afternoon of our lives
Ah, but somebody here
I said somebody here
Is moving on up
Around 60, 65, 70, and 75
It's getting late in the evening
Oh, the sun is on its way down
It's on its way down
If you don't mind joining with me, Dottie like we used to
Let's go back through time
