[Verse 1: Kwest]
Now clutch
That book from your reverends and look towards the Heavens as I
Proceed at the speed of a comet to lyrically vomit granite
On your planet and overcome it ‘cause I’m not from it, traveled
Vast galaxies, telepathically screaming, “Battle me!” so I could
Generate great casualties and fatalities on sad emcees
Devour moons like Galactus for a snack, then spit
Pitch-black, abstract raps on your sun to collapse it
Fact is you n***as talk good game but don’t back it. You say
“Fuck the world,” I’ll stick my middle finger through it like its axis
I’ll battle you dudes new. You can arm your flesh and karma with a
Full suit of armor. I’ll transcend in the wind, deceit within
The creases to harm ya, spit quicksand—let that sink in
Build and wield when thinking out loud, astonish with an ink pen
Scriptures I whip up will leave impressions on your mental
I’m a god with a pencil, should be praised in a temple
No hits of izm, emit gifts with twisted rhythms mixed with wisdom
Bits of mysticism, more bars than the prison system. My
Assault is insulting, thought I’d practice the occult when
Displaying art that’s bound to raise the bar like pole-vaulting
I don’t rap. I transmit frequencies and rhythmic tones which
Translate well over beats through speakers and headphones. See?
I’m trying to be the DaVinci of this century before they lynch me
Zeitgeist of open mic nights. If I’m dreaming, then pinch me. Hmm
Guess it’s what you granted. Hard lines, tongue granite. I was
Planted on this planet, but I didn’t plan it. Call me “son”
Because I’m bright, give light, bring heat like the Sun’s rays
Even when unseen, I shine, end the week/weak like Sundays. Been here
For ever and ever, many storms I’ve weathered, and when all we know
Is returned to dust, trust me, son, Sun stays. I’ve been
Top-notch since the days they popped locks but wasn’t thieving. These
Heights that I’m achieving have no oxygen for breathing. Never
Caught without a thought, inside my mind lies another mind
If we’ve crossed paths, you had a close encounter with another kind
Visions I have would make another blind. Don’t watch X-Men or Avengers
Because I’ve lived those adventures in other times and realms
Beyond your comprehension and limited mental capability
You want a great soliloquy? Then give me space and a quiet place
Like space to think and paint vividly, and you’ll receive some wicked
Imagery from my spade of creativity—give it to me. There are
Rhyme lines hidden in the back of my mind’s minds like stowaways
All utilized when the time is right, no time for throwaways. Far out
Like Uranus while your rhymes are straight rectum. It’s
Obvious we’re from two opposite of the spectrum like odds
And evens, nightmares, dreaming, gods and demons
So exquisite when you hear it, it’s hard to hide your feelings. Never covered
The top spot—place me in the middle like Monie or Malcolm. I can
Do in sixteens what you can’t accomplish with whole albums
Brainstorms are torrential rainstorms, where all types of thought
Trains form, waking to make an impact on tracks. Many times
I hated what I created and wasn’t elated when many hailed it
As greatness. Huh, I guess I’m just a bit jaded. Would you
Think you were insane if you had otherworldly visions? Where you
Were supreme rule, made another world’s decisions? Where
One thought bumped off, left all standing in silence, rendered
A whole society still like a mass Mannequin Challenge?
Any objections brought panic and violence, destruction and an abrupt
End to them while you sat stoic, hand on a chalice? Well
When I close my eyes, those are the type of thoughts that come up
So I never sleep ‘cause sleep is the cousin of death
