HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR WEDDING PLAYLIST
Creating the perfect playlist for your wedding is fun. But, you want to make sure you select the best tunes that will make you feel special on your big day while entertaining your guests at the same time. When curating your perfect wedding playlist, you need more inspiration to make it more cohesive. Since it will be challenging to throw all your favorite songs on the list, check out some inspiration tips to help you through.
Choose a DJ or a Band
First and foremost, think about who will be controlling the playlist at your wedding venue in Dallas, TX. You can have a DJ take control, a band, or a combination of both. Many couples usually choose to have a band play at the wedding and have a DJ entertain the guests at the reception. Also, note that a band will most likely play their music genre while a DJ can throw a taste of all the tunes no matter the genre. Whatever you choose depends on what you want for your big day.
Gather Inspirations
As you throw in your favorite tunes, be open to inspiration. You can search for more songs on youtube, Spotify, and other music platforms. Do not stick to only what you have heard of. You may be surprised to hear a jam that specially inspires you.
Match the Mood
Different moods characterize a wedding ceremony, and you need to have that in mind when curating your perfect playlist. Every song you choose to feature your walk down the aisle, the guest arrival, your last dance at the reception should match the event's mood. Many brides go for a romantic processional tune as they walk down the aisle.
Fill In Your Favorite Songs First
There is that one song you swore you would walk down the aisle to. Start with that one, add more of your favorite tunes and then start filling the list with other suggestions. Note that there is a lot to think about right from the arrival, procession, cake cutting, recession, reception dances, etc. List your favorite songs first, and then work out on filling the rest of the playlist.
A Mix is a Good Idea
Music comes in many genres, so feel free to incorporate all music genres into your big day. That not only entertains every generation on your list of guests, but it also sets the mood for different parts of the ceremony. For instance, having a jazz band to entertain your guest during the dinner party allows them to relax as they converse while the top hits of the year hype up the crowd during the reception party.
Let it be Cohesive
You don't want your playlist to move from a slow jazz tune to a sudden riddim that bursts the eardrums. Have a DJ organize your playlist so that it is cohesive.
Sample it Out
Listen to your playlist from start to finish as you rehearse your moves. You don't want to suffer embarrassment during your big day. If any tune doesn't sound right, feel free to swap it out and experiment with more songs.
In the end, it is your big day, after all. Select whatever music you want for your wedding playlist.
