Quentin Tarantino
Scene 19 Zero to Fifty in Four
Open to Wray looking at the entire crew inside the restaurant after Cherry had just rammed the truck through the side.

Wray:
JT! You take whoever you can fit in your convertible. Everyone else on board!

JT:
Skip, grab the twins! Come along with me!

Wray: (assists Cherry out of the truck)
You take the chopper. I need someone else to drive my truck!

Hague: (holding his neck wound)
I’ll do it.

Wray: (as Hague is getting into the truck)
You’re bleedin’ like a stuck pig. Your vision’s blurred and you’re on your last legs.

Hague:
Anything else?

Wray: Don’t wreck it.

The garage doors open after JT shoves them to the side.

JT:
Somebody grab the slaw! You can’t have no barbecue without coleslaw!
Twin 1:
Give me a gun!

JT: (getting into the convertible)
Take this.

Twin 1: (cocking shotgun)
Fucking cool!

Before JT starts the car, Dakota jumps up next to the Twins. Her father, Earl stands next to the car.

Earl:
Alright y'all, head out, I'll hold 'em off. I can take care of myself.

Dakota:
Bye, daddy.

The two wave at each other. The camera cuts to Cherry on the motorcycle and Wray coming up behind her.

Wray:
Do you remember how to ride a bike?

Cherry:
Useless talent number 32.

Wray:
Good. Anyone else have a car?
Camera cuts to a shot of everyone in the garage, Dakota raises her limp hand. We then move out to the street, where Dakota’s car is.

Wray: (to Hague)
Now, you’re sure you’re okay driving this thing?

Hague:
Hell yeah.

Twin 1:
Dakota… We’re sorry about Tony.

Camera follows Dakota as she hops out of the convertible and moves towards her car with Wray.

Wray:
Your engine’s shot and you have three blown tires!

Dakota:
But I’ve got his pocket bike in the trunk.

They pop the trunk as Wray looks down, Dakota behind him.

Wray:
Is it fast?

Dakota:
Zero to fifty in four seconds.
Wray: (pointing back at Cherry)
You ride with her.

Dakota walks over to the bike and gets on the back.

Cherry:
I’m Cherry.

Dakota: (clinching Cherry’s body on the bike)
You sure are.

Wray: (placing the pocket bike on the street)
Move out!

JT: (looking back at the Bone Shack in flames)
Damn shame.

The caravan begins leaving. Before Wray takes off on his excessively little bike, he looks back and shoots a few zombies that are closing in. He wheelies down the road away from them. Multiple zombies are on the road as the caravan drives, Wray shoots a few, Hague in the “Kill Dozer” swerves into several of them as well. Rusty, JT’s dog, barks and jumps out of the convertible and directly in front of the truck. Hague accidentally runs it over, the dog’s blood spraying all over the Twins. Wray continues to shoot and Hague continues to slam the truck into more zombies. The caravan is approaching a bridge with silhouettes of people, outlined by moonlight. It’s a group of zombies on the bridge. The caravan stops and Wray points his gun towards the group of zombies.

Wray:
Sheriff! How much ammo we got?

Hague:
Not enough.

Before the caravan can react, machine guns fire from the other side of the bridge, mowing down the group of zombies. Once the zombies are downed, we see that it’s a group of military vehicles and men on the opposing side of the bridge.

Wray:
Don’t shoot! We’re not infected!

As Wray says that, the camera cuts back to the military crew. Lt. Muldoon begins slowly walking forward. He takes off his mask to make his face visible.

Lt. Muldoon:
All survivors gotta come with us. Especially you… El Wray.

Wray: (two military men drop down from the top of the bridge behind him)
I don’t go by that name anymore.

One of the two men hits Wray in the back of the head, knocking him out. You can hear Cherry scream. The military vehicles are seen driving down the road, passing the sign from earlier that reads “Military Base 2 Miles.”
