Robert Wyatt
Locomotive
Get going won't be alone no more
Somewhere in the dark
Are waiting for green light
The locomotive is ready for the night
Just watch the flying sparks
They say it's past its prime
The time is near the years can't be denied
Still got a lot of miles
To cover in awhile
Whoever made it never gave it beauty
It's just an old machine
That's fading from the scene
When it gets told it usually rolls out to ting
Sounds like it's wondering why
Thеy let it run so dry
They caught you hear that lonеly cry
Sometimes i lie awake
Listening to that sound
I hear it when the tears of dawn come down
Reminds me of a face
My heart still feels a pain
I know I'll never ride those rails again
Still got a lot of miles
To cover in awhile
Whoever made it never gave it beauty
It's just an old machine
That's fading from the scene
When it gets told it usually rolls out to ting
Sounds like it's wondering why
They let it run so dry
They caught you hear that lonely cry
