Springtime
In winter's passing by old Steven's bay
She roams with a blue tear beneath her ragged veil
Down every lane she drifts, the snow at her feet
Turning each corner, never to be seen

Those who pass by her will hear a faint song
See softness in her eyes and sharpness on her tongue
But what does she sing of behind that veneer?
And what does she wish for behind those blue tears?

Springtime awaits her and her song
Watch for her shadows, near you they could fall
Then just by the moment, they'll be gone
Springtime is calling for her to move along

Once I was caught by the sweet melody
She wished for a love in the winter buried deep
She said, "Don't kill us, no! Don't let it leave!
Or you will end up, child, alone on these streets!"

Springtime awaits her and her song
Watch for her shadows, near you they could fall
Then just by the moment, they'll be gone
Springtime is calling for her to move along

Springtime awaits her, like a moment she'll be gone
Springtime is calling for her to move along
