The Irish Brigade
Oh father, why are you so sad on this bright Easter morn?
When Irishmen are proud and glad of the land where they were born?
Oh son, I see in memories still, those far off, distant days
When being just a lad like you, I joined the I.R.A

Where are the lads who stood with me when history was made?
Oh grá mo chroí, I long to see the boys of the Old Brigade

(Ooh, ah, up the 'Ra, say ooh ah, up the 'Ra)
(Ooh, ah, up the 'Ra, say ooh ah, up the 'Ra)
(Here we go with a song, a song called 'We're On The One Road'!)

On The One Road
We're on the one road, sharing the one road
We're on the road to God knows where
We're on the one road, it may be the wrong road
But we're together now, who cares?
Northmen, Southmen, comrades all
Dublin, Belfast, Cork and Donegal
We're on the one road, swingin' along
Singing a soldier's song

Though we've had our troubles now and then
Now is the time to beat 'em up again
Sure, aren't we all Irish anyhow?
Now is the time, step together now!

We're on the one road, sharing the one road
We're on the road to God knows where
We're on the one road, it may be the wrong road
But we're together now, who cares?

Northmen, (Southmen,) comrades all
Dublin, Belfast, Cork and Donegal
We're on the one road, swingin' along
Singin' a soldier's song

(Here we go!)
(Ooh, ah, up the 'Ra, say ooh ah, up the 'Ra)
(Ooh, ah, up the 'Ra, say ooh ah, up the 'Ra)
(Ooh, ah, up the 'Ra, say ooh ah, up the 'Ra)
(Ooh, ah, up the 'Ra, say ooh ah, up the 'Ra)
(Here we go!)
The Broad Black Brimmer
There's a uniform that's hangin' in what's known as Father's room
A uniform so simple in its style
It's got no braid of gold or silk, nor hat with feathered plume
Yet me mother has preserved it all the while
One day she made me try it on, a wish of mine for years
"In memory of your father, dear," she said
Now, when I put the Sam Browne on she was smilin' through her tears
She placed the broad black brimmer on me head

It's just a broad black brimmer, ribbons frayed and torn
By the careless whisk of many's a mountain breeze
An old trench coat that's so battle-stained and worn
And britches almost threadbare at the knees
A Sam Browne Belt with a buckle big and strong
And a holster that's been empty many's a day
(But not for long!)

But when then came Ireland's freedom
The one should choose to lead 'em
'll wear the broad black brimmer of the I.R.A
(Whoa!)

(Alright, listen, listen, ah, and we have a set of supporters here you might know.)
(Here we go. A Celtic Symphony!)
(One, two, three, four!)
Celtic Symphony
(Do-do, do-do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do)
(Do-do, do-do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do)
(Do-do, do-do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do)
(Hey!)

Far across the sea, where the devil got a hold of me
He wouldn't set me free, kept my soul for ransom
Na na-na-na-na-na, na na-na-na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na, na-na-na-na-na na-na

I'm a sailor man from Glasgow town
I've roamed the world around and round
The meanest thing that I have found
In all me days of wanderin'

Na na-na-na na-na-na-na, na-na, na-na-na-na
Na na-na-na na-na-na-na, na-na na-na na-na

I could see his evil eyes
Then he took me by surprise:
"Take me to your paradise
I want to see the jungle"

Na-na-na na-na-na-na, na na-na na-na-na-na
Na-na-na na-na-na-na, na na-na na na-na

Here we go again (everybody)
We're on the road again
We're on the road again
We're on our way to paradise
We love the jungle deep
That's where the lion sleeps
For then those evil eyes
They have no place in paradise

(Up-ho, up-ho!)
(Fellas!)
(Ooh, ah, up the 'Ra, say ooh ah, up the 'Ra)
(Ooh, ah, up the 'Ra, say ooh ah, up the 'Ra)
(Ooh, ah, up the 'Ra, say ooh ah, up the 'Ra)
(Ooh, ah, up the 'Ra, say ooh ah, up the 'Ra)
(Ooh, ah, up!)
(Ooh, ah, up!)
(Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ah, up the 'Ra, say ooh ah, up the 'Ra!)
