Taking Pictures
The first one you ever snapped
Was a misfire our eyes were half closed
She blamed it on a bump in the road
The first one we ever framed
Was from our first holiday together
When we spent Christmas with her folks
Got ahold of a Polaroid once
And that day sure was fun
Posing in the summer sun
Steady shaking with her
Now today we're taking pictures
Off our walls and out of our wallets
Off our phones cause if one of us calls
Would make me miss him
Or make me miss her
So we're taking picture one by one
And throwing them out
Along with the box
That's been keeping them around
There ain't no need now
Cause I ain't with him
And I ain't with her
This ain't a smile
Along the count of three kind
Of taking pictures
That one of our funny smiles
I took it off from my profile
Put it up one weekend with my sister
Now his is of a fishing trip
That took the place of a little kiss
We caught at Canalee last winter
Now today we're taking pictures
Off our walls and out of our wallets
Off our phones cause if one of us calls
Would make me miss him
Or make me miss her
So we're taking picture one by one
And throwing them out
Along with the box
That's been keeping them around
There ain't no need now
Cause I ain't with him
And I ain't with her
This ain't a smile
Along the count of three kind
Of taking pictures
Taking pictures
Half the time the place
When the camera's in your face
You just can't picture
Never picture, you never picture
Now today we're taking pictures
Off our walls and out of our wallets
Off our phones cause if one of us calls
Would make me miss him
Or make me miss her
So we're taking picture one by one
And throwing them out
Along with the box
That's been keeping them around
There ain't no need now
Cause I ain't with him
Yeah, and I ain't with her
This ain't a smile
Along the count of three kind
No, it ain't another moment
That you've frozen in time
Kind of taking pictures
Yeah, taking pictures
