Neil Young
Heart of Gold (Live) [Dorothy Chandler Pavilion 1971]
[Verse 1]
I wanna live, I wanna give
I've been a miner for a heart of gold
It's these expressions I never give
That keep me searchin' for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old

[Refrain]
Keep me searchin' for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old

[Verse 2]
I've been to Hollywood, I've been to Redwood
I crossed the ocean for a heart of gold
I've been in my mind, it's such a fine line
That keeps me searchin' for a heart of gold
And I'm gettin' old

[Refrain]
Keep me searchin' for a heart of gold

[Outro]
Keep me searchin' for a heart of gold
It keeps me searchin' and I'm growing old
Keep mе searchin' for a heart of gold
I've been a minеr for a heart of gold
And I'm gettin' old
[Interlude]
Thanks
This is a song I wrote, um
Under weird circumstances
I wrote it— usually I don't write too many songs too fast
But all of a sudden I found myself not being able to move around too much
In a bed a lot, and, um
And my mind started wandering
And when I got home
I kept hearing this song over and over in my head
I didn't know what it meant when I first started hearing it
I'm starting to see what it means now
