Of Love and Grief
[Verse]
I keep breathing cuz you keep grieving
The willow I tried feeding just keeps weeping
Never seem to get it right for a few new reasons
Peace of mind is leaving meaning to the change of the season
We both lost souls too guilty and proud
Empty echoes on the phone with a lot to let out
We know each other too well to try and speak now
But you always said that love's the benefit of the doubt
Once you lose what you abuse death starts to reach out
These are posthumous poems that I just read as my vows
You can find me in your garden as a tree that'll sprout
Gaping holes in the roots that only you can fill out
You keep breathing cuz I keep grieving
You gave me all you could and so you leave bleeding
Every way you try to see it it just felt uneven
Only way to dodge the pain is if you lose feeling
Don't be so romantic see the story complete
Uninvited guest let the black doves free
Don't get charmed by a smile don't abandon the tree
But hold a spot just in case time does what it needs
It was heavy on your shoulders I was too dumb to see
Did the most zayd thing ever and made it all about me
Self evident truth if you stay or you leave
Nothing harder to bear than when the fruit's too sweet
