Intro (Live at Cbgb’s 1983)
...Well I don't see it as a matter of
Communism or Anarchy,
Or democracy or freedom.
I see it as a matter of
People's basic human rights being violated.
Multinationals using the people in the reef
and the raw materials, and the resources
of all the different Third-World Countries of the world.
Pretty sick & ugly, it's real sick & ugly.
I read something in a magazine called Corporate Action,
about the Green Berets training the El Salvadorian troops.
they take a fifteen-year-old boy,
who is suspected, of being a
Collaborator, with the guerillas.
They take him out and they chop off first his fingertips,
then his fingers all one by one hand after hand, and then they chop off his arms.
And then they douse him in gas fluid, set him on fire.
Then they put him out, and he's barely alive,
they put him in a helicopter and drop him into the Atlantic Ocean
This is our Green Berets, and it really is happening
you see the people that it's being affected,
you meet them, you hear their stories.
It's not a bunch of shit,
it's not a bunch of Cuban Russian propaganda
it's a bunch of Greed by the Multi-Death Corporation of the U.S. Army
The 250 Multinationals inside El Salvador;
EXXON Gasoline, Procter & Gamble, TEXACO, Texas Instruments, Folgers Coffee.
And we are decided to take a stand about it.
Our new EP was gonna come out, a percentage of the proceeds are gonna go to the El Salvador medical aid program.
Our hearts and our souls are with people fighting to be liberated!
Pacifism has its time and place,
but those people can't afford to be pacifists
They are exterminated or exploited for EXXON,
there's no two ways about it.
They're taking their stand, and we're gonna try to help them.
So, hope you'll come there There's another gig coming up on Tuesday for Flag Day, it's gonna help the RAR bands, which we are one, it's also with Reagan Youth.
And hopefully there's something coming back with another benefit happening with the Dead Kennedys, the first week of July, something a lot more on the line of five dollars at the door. More of an underground gig, so keep it under your hat, keep your ear to the ground.
Really like to thank all our friends in the UR this really is our second home.
And with no more further ado, let's get on with the show.
