Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want
The Lord pursues me, and I shall not run
He makes me lie down in green pastures
I talk to my God, I don't need to talk to pastors
He leads me beside still waters
I learn to walk on them with my eyes on my Father
He restores my soul, my heart becomes full
He pursues the youth and rescues the old
My life was a mess to behold
But behold the lamb, my God had a plan
Pick me up, and here I stand
I was so sick of the piousness
He leads me in paths of righteousness
And He does it all for His namesake
When He speaks, the ground shakes
He shields me when I'm around fakes
Even though I walk around in the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil because my God moves mountains with the power of His breath
So in this valley, I will rally for what is left
With the weight of the world on my chest, I'll push ahead with no time to rest, for You are with me
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me
I sleep at peace when my enemies come for me
I pray for thanksgiving for all that You've done for me
Suicidal and hopeless, I pointed a gun to me
So you can laugh, and you can make fun of me
But you should meet my God, it's something to see
He goes to prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies
He crushes their heads like centipedes
He meets my needs, when I sin, He grieves
And when I fall like fall leaves, He still doesn't leave
He springs me back, You anoint my head with oil
So if you're white or if you're black, we all come from the same soil
And you know what? My cup overflows
I'm addicted to Your grace, pills turned prayers, I overdose
I hate my sin, and I know it's gross
But upon that cross, I boast, I boast, I boast
Because surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
And if I keep my eyes on You, You'll direct me to what's right
I don't grow weary when I stand up to fight
These demons are light as feathers
Red letters are treasured
Ready to go home, ready to be together
And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever
