Illy
Seven Nation Army

[Intro]
Ah, shit
Illy, M-Phazes
Friday Flips, number two
White Stripes
Seven Nation Army
Fuck, you know Phazes is gonna kill this one
Hehe
I had some shit written to this
I had to change it at the last minute
Pay homage to a legend
I don't mean any disrespect if I haven't done this well enough
Check it out

[Verse 1]
Fire up the DeLorean, hit the time warp
2012 Melbourne, ‘80s New York
Twist bottle tops, I don't pop corks
Mic is my Tommy gun, pen is my sword
We could go to war, bum rush ya fort
Seven Nation Army couldn't hold us back with force
They all talk, so allow my retort
Uh, I do dirt but I don't get caught
Uh, sell records but I won't be bought
Put that in your company’s quarterly report
Uh, kick raps till my voice is hoarse
Cool as a cucumber in a bowl o’ hot sauce
Rhyme, reason and cause, I hold all cards
And to sucka MCs, it’s sabotage, ah
[Bridge]
Just put your hands up high
Just hold your lighters to the sky
And would you please make noise?
This one’s for the Beastie Boys

[Verse 2]
MCA R.I.P
Stay sucka free, I know it's all G
‘Cause I’ma tell you like a rapper told me
We all intergalactic, planetary
But we losin’ our idols, time’s up, needles off the vinyl
Pray for an end a little less final
We seldom see timeless in this age of album cycles
Where bottom lines more vital than messages recited
They glamourise basic for advertisin’ space
And generations raised with televisions on
All the media portrayed with Chris Brown is basically
You're able to hit women long as you can sing a song
Um, nah, wrong, I ain’t havin’ that
Young girls hear of whips and chains in Rihanna's trash
And tough guy rappers say if you ain’t a tough guy rapper
"You a faggot", Jesus, caveman, thanks for that
Ha, I’m fittin’ somewhere in the middle
Actually, I’m to the side of it all, ‘cause all they tryna score
Points off of is talk, listen to what they're sayin’
No substance, no thought, both sides the same
You don't need to buy into it or give a shit
Or think because it’s in your face, you gotta be interested
You don't (Don't), fuck it (Fuck), we all (All) choose
‘Cause while they profit, music loses
I was probably born a generation late
To the Beastie Boys party, but they still had a place
In my teenage life, so it’s only right I pay
My respects to a caliber we hardly find these days
So rest in peace to the late MCA
I’m not sayin’ he's a prophet, but this next clip’s from '98
Fuck the gloss and the lollipop shit
How many pop culture icons drop knowledge like this? Ah
[Interlude: MCA]
Yeah, uh
In addition to thankin’ everybody that’s worked on
All the videos and all the people that’ve worked with us over the years
Uh, it’s kind of a rare opportunity that one
Gets to speak to this many people at once, so, uh
If you guys’ll forgive me, I just wanted to speak my mind on a couple things
And, uh, I think it was a real mistake that the US
Chose to fire missiles into the Middle East
I think th-that was a huge mistake
And, I think that it's, it’s
It’s very important that the United States start to look towards
Non-violent means of resolving conflicts
Because if we, hold on, hold on, give me one second here
Because if we, th-
Those bombings that took place in the Middle East were thought of as a
Retaliation by the terrorists, and if we thought of what we
Did as retaliation, certainly, we’re gonna find
More retaliation from people in the Middle East
Uh, from terrorists, specifically, I should say, because
Most Middle Eastern people are not terrorists and
I think that-that’s another thing
That America really needs to think about is our racism
Racism that comes from the United States
Towards Muslim people and towards Arabic people
And that’s something that has to stop, and the United States
Has to start respecting people from the Middle East
In order to find the solution to the problem
That’s been building up over many years
So I thank everyone for, uh
For your patience and lettin’ me speak my mind on
That, thank you
