The Price of Hope
What’s the price of hope?
And do it rise when the economy declines?
That disconnect would often be despised and it is
While subprime mortgages led to primest of ribs for a few
Me and you get barely bailed out
And history repeats
Hope gettin very expensive
To pay attention costs sanity, I’m very attentive
Every headline very aggressive and while the president worried bout stocks down
I’m lookin for something to bring hope costs down before the price is insurmountable
We, Titans of the casual, Vikings of the ask for few accountable as long as our pleasure’s bountiful
Paying for our inaction through hope, fear and power too
So I’m tryna use this time to invest
And I hope that every caged bird sings til they find them a nest
All in this tiresome mess
Cause as rises hope’s price, so declines the price of regrets
