Interlude (Pay Intention Pt. 1)
[Interlude]
I had decided that 2020 would be my year
But then the weather changed
It was a storm I felt coming
And I knew I had a lot to give in the new climate
But while my rhymes were on, my mind took me out of the present
Led me home to the stresses that threw me offbeat
My woman, my family, and the heartbeat of the music loved me anyway
And I realized that the gratitude for that reality was the foundational blank page to write the story on
But that alone wasn't enough
I doubted a lot of the love outside that circle
It felt like rhetoric
I needed to be told today and now through actions that somethin' just couldn't give
The confidence I had about the year ahead was replaced with uncertainty
I didn't know if I was ready to be who I was wherever I was going to be
I didn't know if I could handle it
